Public assent achieved to purchase sections of the abandoned Canadian Pacific Rail corridor between Sicamous and Armstrong

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) and the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) have both successfully concluded an Alternative Approval Process (AAP), providing them with the necessary public assent to borrow for the purchase of sections of the CP Rail Corridor property between Sicamous and Armstrong, excluding a number of sections owned by the Splatsin.
Rail Trail Showcase Event - Lake Country

On Saturday, July 29th, the Rail Trail Interjurisdictional Development Team invites you to come on out to Lake Country for a Rail Trail Showcase! This is an open house-style event where the public is invited to walk or ride their bike on the recently-constructed showcase section of the trail, and learn about what goes into developing this community-centred project.
Paddlewheel Boat Launch to open on Friday

The Regional District of North Okanagan will be reopening the Paddlewheel Park boat launch effective Friday July 21, 2017. Gates will be open by 8:00 am and regular operating hours will be in effect.
Greater Vernon Water Stage 1 Water Restrictions

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) wishes to inform customers of Greater Vernon Water (GVW) that Stage 1 outdoor water use restrictions are now in place as per the Greater Vernon Water Use and Regulation Bylaw No. 2545, 2014.
Campfires to be banned within the Kamloops Fire Centre

Effective at noon on Friday, July 7, 2017, campfires are prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.
2017 Flood Debris - Grindable Wood Waste Tipping Fees Waived from July 10 to August 20, 2017

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises owners and occupants of residential properties located within the RDNO that tipping fees for grindable wood waste resulting from the 2017 flood event will be waived from July 10 to August 20, 2017 at the following Recycling and Disposal Facilities (RDFs):

1) Greater Vernon Recycling and Disposal Facility: 120 Birnie Road
2) Armstrong/Spallumcheen Recycling and Disposal Facility: 3367 Powerhouse Road
3) Lumby Recycling and Disposal Facility: 221 Trinity Valley Road.
