NOTICE TO GREATER VERNON WATER CUSTOMERS - Scheduled Duteau Creek Water Source Switch

Greater Vernon Water (GVW) is informing customers that the Duteau Creek water source will be turned off the week of March 27, 2017 for planned maintenance work. GVW will be providing water to all customers from the Mission Hill Water Treatment Plant (MHWTP) supplied by Kalamalka Lake. With the change in water source, there are no health related affects to our customers.

Chair and Vice Chair elected for Regional District of North Okanagan Standing Committees

The Regional District of North Okanagan Greater Vernon Advisory Committee, which oversees Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture and Greater Vernon Water, has re-elected their current chairperson for another year. At their regular meeting held on January 5, 2017, Juliette Cunningham, RDNO Director representing the City of Vernon, was re-elected for Chair of the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee. The election of vice-chair has been postponed to a future meeting.
Boys and Girls Club west entrance improvements completed

The west entrance of the Vernon location of the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club has received a face lift and some access control enhancements, thanks to a $15,000 donation of funding through Rotary Club of Vernon, from the Province of British Columbia, and funding from the Regional District of North Okanagan.
Pat Duke Arena upgrade fundraising receives boost from TELUS

Local efforts to raise money for upgrading the girls change rooms at Pat Duke Memorial Arena in Lumby have received a $16,000 boost through the TELUS Community Investment grant program.
