The Regional District of North Okanagan would like to remind residents that the Okanagan Rail Trail is currently closed for construction. 

Expanded Bus Service and New Fares Coming to Vernon

Wednesday, March 7, 2018 -

Vernon – Starting Sunday, April 1, bus riders in the Vernon Regional Transit System will benefit from service improvements and a simplified fare system that will allow all passengers to pay a single, one-way fare of $2.50 to travel across all zones.

The Regional District of North Okanagan has received support from the recycling and waste hauling industry in the Okanagan for the proposed long term vision for managing solid waste generated in the RDNO, as proposed in the draft Solid Waste Management Plan Update.

Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture
Greater Vernon is made up of the City of Vernon, the District of Coldstream and RDNO Electoral Areas “B” (BX/Swan Lake) and “C” (BX/Silver Star).

Fortune Parks, Recreation and Culture
The Fortune area is made up of the City of Enderby, and RDNO Electoral Area “F” (rural Enderby).

White Valley Parks, Recreation and Culture
The White Valley area includes the Village of Lumby and RDNO Electoral Areas “D” (rural Lumby), and “E” (Cherryville).

Greater Vernon Arts Culture and Youth Grants
The Regional District of North Okanagan has established a grant application process for community organizations planning to provide a festival, event or project, featuring arts, culture and/or youth based elements for the benefit of Greater Vernon residents.

White Valley Community Grants
White Valley Parks, Recreation and Culture encourages community events by providing financial grants to offset facility rental fees for community groups that are operating community events using Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities for the benefit of area residents.
