Alternative Approval Process for the Proposed Disposition of Park Lands in Relation to Subdivision

The Regional District of North Okanagan is proposing to seek the approval of qualified electors within the District of Coldstream, City of Vernon and Electoral Areas “B” and “C” (service participants) by means of an Alternative Approval Process for the adoption of Disposition of Park Lands Acquired in Relation to Subdivision Bylaw No. 2665, 2015.

As part of the restructuring of the Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation and Culture Service local parks will become the responsibility of the local government in whose jurisdiction the parks is located.  The general intent of this proposed bylaw is to authorize the Regional District of North Okanagan to dispose of park land that was acquired in relation to subdivision and transfer ownership of these park lands to the City of Vernon for $1.00 and other good and valuable consideration.

Deadline for receipt of Elector Response Forms is 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
