Notice to Greater Vernon Water Customers - Kalamalka Water Source Back On

Posted Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Greater Vernon Water would like to inform customers that the Kalamalka Lake water source has been turned back on as of Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Testing has shown that the raw water quality has returned to safe parameters for proper disinfection. Customers on the Kalamalka Lake supply may notice a change in water quality such as an increase in hardness. This may be of interest to those customers who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.

All water in the Greater Vernon service area was supplied from the Duteau Creek Water Treatment Plant from March 28 until April 7 in order to avoid issuing a Boil Water Notice to customers normally receiving water from Kalamalka Lake.
