Permaculture Focus of Garden Workshop

Posted Friday, August 8, 2014

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) is pleased to host its third garden workshop of the summer on Wednesday, August 13th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Xerindipity Demonstration Garden located adjacent to the Okanagan Science Centre in Vernon’s Polson Park. Guest speaker Gordon Hiebert, Element Eco-Design co-owner, will provide an overview of Permaculture Design and discuss the plants chosen for Xerindipity’s Permaculture plot. He will also discuss how versatile and simple Permaculture Design is, and how it can be applied to create abundant, organic edible landscapes, localized economies, resilient communities and more.

For those unable to make the workshop, feel free to visit the Xerindipity Demonstration Garden. Xerindipity is open during regular Polson Park hours, May through October. Enjoy the shade of the gazebo, gain ideas for outdoor planting, and learn more about composting techniques.

Registration is not required for this free workshop, but seating is limited. For more information, contact the RDNO at 250-550-3700 or at [email protected].
