Posted Thursday, March 20, 2014

COLDSTREAM, BC – The Alternative Approval Process (AAP) officially closed on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. for the Starling Control Program Grant Service Establishment Bylaw No. 2574, 2013.

The Regional District estimated the total number of qualified electors in the service areas to be 62,928 and that ten percent (10%) of that number, or 6,293 qualified electors, would need to be in opposition in order to quash the bylaw.

Nine (9) Elector Response Forms were received by our office opposing the proposed bylaw. This figure is fewer than ten percent (10%) or 6,293 signatures required to quash the bylaw.

On March 19, 2014, the Board of Directors adopted Bylaw No. 2574.
