NOTICE TO GREATER VERNON WATER CUSTOMERS Kalamalka Water Source Back On

Posted Monday, January 11, 2016

The Regional District of North Okanagan wishes to inform customers of Greater Vernon Water (GVW) that the Kalamalka Lake water source has been turned back on as of Monday, January 11, 2016. The Kalamalka Pump Station shut down on December 26, 2015 due to a ground fault in the electrical system. The transformer and all components in the electrical system within the pump station were inspected, tested and corrections were made to alleviate the ground fault issue. GVW has now returned this water supply back to normal operations.

Customers on the Kalamalka Lake supply may notice a change in water quality such as an increase in hardness. This may be of interest to those customers who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.
