Recycling and Disposal Fees

Current Recycling and Disposal Fees for all RDNO Recycling and Disposal Facilities are listed in the Municipal Solid Waste Management Bylaw No. 2659, 2014.  These fees took effect Friday, January 2, 2016.  The most significant changes for 2016 are as follows:

  • an increase in the regular refuse disposal fee from $95/tonne to $97/tonne effective January 2, 2016 and a further increase from $97/tonne to $100/tonne effective July 1, 2016;
  • the fee for construction and demolition (C&D) waste will increase from $200/tonne to $202/tonne;
  • the fee for disposal of refuse containing Regulated Material (e.g. recyclable and/or divertible products such as asphalt roofing, yard and garden waste, glass, scrap metal wood and/or Blue Bag recyclables) will increase from $200/tonne to $203/tonne;
  • the disposal fee for refuse containing drywall will increase from $300/tonne to $303/tonne;
  • the fee for mixed residential waste will increase from $66/tonne to $68/tonne; and
  • minimum charges for regular refuse, wood and metal will all increase from $4 to $5. The per tonne recycling and disposal fee for these products remains the same;
  • the spring and fall “Free Yard Waste Drop Off” periods have been eliminated, Yard & Garden Waste will now be accepted FREE OF CHARGE YEAR ROUND at all RDNO Recycling and Disposal Facilities.
