The Regional District of North Okanagan will be hosting three open houses throughout
the North Okanagan in June to give residents an opportunity to learn about the Regional
Growth Strategy process and provide comments on eight growth issues affecting the
region.
Over the next 20 years, the North Okanagan is expected to grow by another 40,000
persons. The Regional Growth Strategy will explore how and where this growth could be
accommodated to ensure the North Okanagan remains vibrant, healthy, prosperous, and
sustainable. Residents will have an opportunity to view displays on a variety of topics,
including economic development, affordable housing, the environment, water, urban
containment, agriculture, transportation and infrastructure and governance and service
delivery. Growth issues comment forms will be available and residents will be asked to
share their thoughts and ideas about the growth issues at the open house.
Everyone is invited to attend to view the displays, talk with Regional District staff, provide
your opinions about the growth issues and listen to the presentation and ask any
questions you may have.
To provide your opinion, concerns and ideas about the eight growth issues, there is an
on-line feedback form available between June 15th and July 15th at www.rdno.ca or you
can send comments in via mail or at the open houses.
