From the Ground Up
The North Okanagan Regional Growth Strategy was envisioned to be a plan developed by our elected official, our stakeholders and the public. Our municipal councils and the Board of Directors collaborated on the vision statement that provided guidance for the development of the Regional Growth Strategy. We went to the public to ask what issues we should take a look at and what suggestions you had.
We took your input and put together eight working groups made up of citizens, community groups, key stakeholders and local, regional and provincial staff. They came up with 200 policy recommendations that were commented on by municipal councils and the Electoral Area Directors. The Board of Directors, based upon everyone’s input, selected what should be included in the Regional Growth Strategy.
