ReTHINK Waste Project Grants
Application Deadline: October 31, 2020 at 4:00pm
A Webinar Information Session was held on Zoom on October 7 at 2:00pm.
Have an innovative idea for a project that can contribute to reducing waste in our region? Consider applying for a 2021 ReTHINK Waste Grant.
The ReTHINK Waste Grant Program supports a wide range of initiatives that support reducing waste. Some potential projects are: community sharing initiatives, salvaging materials for reuse, reducing food waste, research projects, waste reduction education events, product repair events/courses, policy amendments, and waste reduction equipment development.
Individuals, businesses, community groups and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Project funds may be requested for up to 50% of the total cost of a project. A total of $50,000 annual funding has been approved for 2021 with an effort to fund a number of projects within this allocation.
This program encourages projects that facilitate the highest levels of the pollution prevention hierarchy (Reduce and Reuse) and support the development of a circular economy.
