Property Information Request - Planning and Building Files

A Property Information Request - Planning and Building Files allows for the development community, real estate agents, and the public to obtain information relating to a property including building permits, zoning information and bylaw infractions.  This type of request may help to determine if there are any violations on the property that are known to the Regional District, whether or not an occupancy permit has been issued, and what the current zoning of the property is.  If there is a survey certificate on file, a copy will be included in the results if you have written authorization from the property owner, however, the RDNO does not guarantee the accuracy as they are typically part of historic files.  Please see below for information on how to obtain a plot plan or survey certificate from Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia.

Please note that the Regional District can only accept Property Information Requests for the RDNO Electoral Areas "B", "C", "D", "E" and "F".  For properties located within a municipality, please contact them directly.

A $75 fee payment is required prior to the written release of information in accordance with the Development Application Procedures and Administrative Fees Bylaw No. 2677, 2018.  RDNO staff will contact you once the files have been located to discuss payment options.

The RDNO does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the information being provided. The RDNO is not responsible for costs incurred or damages sustained as a result of errors, deficiencies, and/or omissions in the documents.
