Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act) establishes a process to access records and information. The Act applies to all records in the custody or under the control of public bodies like the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO). The Act gives individuals rights of access to information held by the RDNO and protects privacy by placing restrictions on collecting, using or disclosing personal information.

Routine Requests

Records such as agendas and minutes of open meetings, bylaws, publications, and policies and procedures are often available on our public website or upon request. Please get in touch with the appropriate department for access to these types of information.

Formal Requests

A formal written request is required for access to records that are not routinely available.

How to Submit a Formal Request

Formal requests must be submitted in writing or by using the form. Please be as specific as possible when making your request, as it will assist us in locating and retrieving the records in a more timely manner.
