Update - July 18, 2025
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises customers supplied by the Silver Star Water Utility (SSW) that planned construction work is complete. A water outage did occur during the planned construction work and as a result some customers on Monashee Rd, Monashee Court, and Attridge Lane are on a Water Quality Advisory (WQA) (see map of affected area).
The WQA will be in effect until sampling results confirm that the drinking water is safe. While water service to customers is being restored, you may experience some turbidity, which is normal. Please run a cold water tap until the water runs clear. An outdoor tap is preferred.
Why is this notice in place?
Planned construction work occurred on July 18, 2025, which caused water loss to some customers.
What should affected customers do?
When water service resumes, properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air in the water. Please run cold water until the water has cleared. An outside tap(s) is preferred. Protect outside taps from freezing if used.
Some customers may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth. The RDNO will notify customers when the WQA is rescinded.
