With over 7400 licensed dogs in the area, many of our parks and trails allow dogs on-leash making your visit enjoyable for the whole family! Please note that those parks that do not allow dogs are close to playgrounds or environmentally sensitive areas. We ask all users to please check our parks and trails list to see if dogs are allowed in the area while planning your trip.

    Black Rock Park provides users with 360-degree views of the BX and Greater Vernon areas.  Dogs are permitted on leash only.

    Located behind the BX Fire Hall, BX Community Park features a playground, basketball court and sports field. Dogs are not permitted on this site.

    In partnership with the Okanagan Indian Band, the Regional District of North Okanagan oversees the operations and maintenance of Canoe Beach.

    Dogs are not permitted on the beach itself but are permitted on-leash along the pathway.

    A perfect place for the family, Cedar Ridge Park features a playground and greenspace. Dogs are not permitted in this area.

    Cools Pond Park is a multi-use pathway and pond featuring many species of birds and turtles. A viewing platform is available for users. Dogs are not permitted in this area.
