Type
Water Notice

In conjunction with Interior Health, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises some customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water that they are on a precautionary Boil Water Notice (BWN) until sampling results confirm the drinking water is safe. The area affected includes 643-697 Black Rock Rd, 704-732 39 Ave, 714-724, 776 35 Ave, 3501, 3503, 3601, 3605 12 St and 3501 11 St (see map).

A water service break has resulted in a water outage. Repairs are expected to be completed this evening. After water has been returned, the line will be sampled and restored to normal flow. The RDNO is issuing a Boil Water Notice during this work to ensure continued water safety.

What should affected customers do?

Properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air in their water. Please run a cold water tap until the water has cleared. An outside tap is preferred.

The level of service and treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, customers in the affected area should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when their brushing teeth.

When this notice is rescinded, it will be posted on the RDNO website, sent out to email subscribers and the locally placed signs will be updated. If you wish to subscribe, please visit www.rdno.ca/subscribe.

If you have any questions, please contact the RDNO Utilities Department at 250-550-3700.
