Project Description

This project will replace 120 meters of water main on 31 Street from 43 Avenue to just past the first hydrant. This water main is a high-priority GVW risk project for renewal due to numerous breaks.

The original project that RDNO was partnering with the CoV on was the replacement of approximately 25 m of water main within the paved area of 43 Ave during their paving project so as not to disturb the new pavement in the future when the 31 Street water main is replaced. The project limits were extended by 120 metres north just past the first hydrant to include the section where most other breaks on 31 Street have occurred. RDNO staff decided to proceed with the construction work prior to the CoV asphalt plan as the  project expanded and is no longer just within the CoV working area.

Construction has been awarded to the City of Vernon for installation and commissioning of the water main.
