30 Street, 15 Avenue to 18 Avenue Water Main Replacement

This water main replacement project consists of approximately 153 metres of 1981 150mm cast iron water main. This section of water main was identified as a high-priority water main replacement project based on the calculated risk using RiLCAMP (Greater Vernon Water risk tool) and high number of breaks (3). The water main is approximately 44 years old and is located in a highly corrosive area of soil (detrimental to metallic materials), with an average of two (2) breaks per 100 metres. 

Design has been approved as part of the 2026 budget and construction is anticipated to take place in 2028.
