Project Description
The Emergency Reflective Address Sign Project will improve emergency preparedness and public safety for approximately 1,092 residents of Cherryville and Electoral Area E by supporting the production and installation of highly visible reflective civic address signs for rural properties.
Funded through Electoral Area E Community Works Fund (CWF) funding, this $10,000 project will be delivered by the Cherryville Firewatch Society. The initiative will provide durable reflective address signs that improve property identification and assist emergency responders, including fire, ambulance, and police services, in locating properties more quickly and accurately, particularly during nighttime hours and adverse weather conditions.
The project meets Community Works Fund eligibility under the Resilience category by enhancing community preparedness, strengthening public safety, and supporting effective emergency response. The Cherryville Firewatch Society will administer the program, including processing resident orders, purchasing materials, and manufacturing the reflective signs for participating rural property owners.
By improving address visibility throughout the community, the project will support faster emergency response times, enhance public safety, and strengthen overall community resilience for residents of Cherryville and Electoral Area E.
