A planned power outage in this area scheduled for October 9, 2026, beginning at 9:00 am, will result in a possible loss of water pressure for some customers. In conjunction with Interior Health, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises some customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water that they will be on a precautionary Boil Water Notice (BWN) as of 9:00 am, October 9, 2026 until sampling results confirm the drinking water is safe. The area affected includes Stepping Stones Cres and 360-380 Stepping Stones Rd (see map).
What should affected customers do?
Properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air. Please run a cold water tap until the water has cleared.
The level of service and treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, customers in the affected area should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when their brushing teeth.
When this notice is rescinded, it will be posted on the RDNO website, sent out to email subscribers and the locally placed signs will be updated. If you wish to subscribe, please visit www.rdno.ca/subscribe.
If you have any questions, please contact the RDNO Utilities Department at 250-550-3700.
