Rescinded: Water Quality Advisory - December 6, 2024
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the Delcliffe area that the precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) originally issued on September 20, 2024, has been rescinded.
Work on the reservoir has successfully been completed and all bacterial testing has been finalized. The reservoir will be put online on December 6, 2024, and use of the temporary reservoir will end.

Update: Water Quality Advisory Extended - November 22, 2024
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the Delcliffe area that the precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) has been extended to December 20, 2024.
Upon draining the reservoir, it was discovered that additional work would be required which has caused the WQA to be extended beyond the original estimated completion date. Remediation work continues and is on pace to be completed by December 20, 2024.
Some customers in the affected area may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.
The WQA will be rescinded once the work on the existing reservoir has been completed and testing has confirmed that the existing reservoir meets drinking water guidelines.

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the Delcliffe area that the precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) has been extended to November 22, 2024.
Upon draining the reservoir, it was discovered that additional work would be required and the WQA will need to be extended beyond October 30, 2024 (the original estimated completion date).
Some customers in the affected area may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.
The WQA will be rescinded once the work on the existing reservoir has been completed and testing has confirmed that the existing reservoir meets drinking water guidelines which is now expected to be completed by November 22, 2024.

Update: Water Quality Advisory Issued - September 24, 2024
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises residents in the Delcliffe area that they will be on a precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) while the system is being supplied by the temporary reservoir. This precautionary WQA is effective starting September 24, 2024.
The water treatment provided by the RDNO will be maintained; however, some customers in the affected area may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.
The WQA will be rescinded once the project to the existing reservoir has been completed and testing has confirmed that the existing reservoir meets drinking water guidelines. The project on the existing reservoir is expected to be completed by October 30, 2024.
ORIGINAL: September 20, 2024
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the Delcliffe area that treated water will be supplied by a temporary reservoir while upgrades are being completed on the existing reservoir. The temporary reservoir is scheduled to be put into service on September 24, 2024.
The project will require the existing reservoir to be drained to allow the installation of a new liner. Water quality sampling of the temporary reservoir will occur before water is released from the temporary reservoir into the distribution system to ensure water quality is maintained. Upon completion of the project, the existing reservoir will be filled, sampled and put back into service at which time the temporary reservoir will be removed from service. The work is estimated to be completed the week of October 30th.
What should customers do?
Residents in the area should not notice any changes to their water quality nor quantity during the maintenance work. The level of service and treatment provided by the RDNO will be maintained.
