Operators and divers have restored Delcliffe Water Systems pumping capacity and water restrictions can be removed. Water restrictions are now at Normal stage. Please go to www.rdno.ca/gvw/restrictions to view.
The water supply and treatment have also returned to normal; however, the Boil Water Notice remains in effect until a second set of samples are completed and results are acceptable. The first set of samples were acceptable.
Original notice: June 17, 2025
The Regional District of North Okanagan is implementing immediate emergency water restrictions for all customers supplied by the Delcliffe Water Utility due to an intake issue (see map). Water use must be limited to essential household needs only: drinking, food preparation, toilets or other personal essential uses.
Due to the water outage, when water returns a Boil Water Notice is in effect until further notice.
Why is this notice in place?
All customers who receive water from the Delcliffe Water Utility are on immediate water restrictions due a blockage at the water system intake.
The utility is responding to this issue by scheduling divers and supplementing the reservoir using water hauling trucks; however, it may still empty unless water use is minimized.
What should affected customers do?
Customers should only use water for drinking, food preparation, toilets or other personal essential uses.
Customers should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth.
