Original notice - August 5, 2025
In conjunction with Interior Health, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water that they are on a precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA). The area affected are properties along Selkirk Dr, Montrose Pl, Elgin Dr, Kinrose Pl, Inverness Dr, 209-248 Sarsons Dr, Sarsons Pl, and 240-380 Sarsons Rd (see map).
A water main break along Highway 6 has required that operators isolate the area. To keep water flowing to all customers, water has been redirected through the affected area causing higher than normal water flows resulting in possible increased turbidity. Once the repair is completed, the water line will be flushed, sampling will be done, and water flows will return to normal. The RDNO is issuing a WQA to the affected area while repairs, sampling, and testing of the water main occurs to ensure the continued safety of the water system.
What should affected customers do?
During the repair, properties in the area may experience discolouration of the water due to the increased water flow.
The level of treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, some customers may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth.
Updates will be posted to www.rdno.ca/news (filter by Water Notices).
