Update – October 30, 2026, 4:10 pm
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises customers supplied by the Mabel Lake Water Utility (MLW) that the water main shut off work is complete. The affected area was greater than expected (see map).
A Water Quality Advisory (WQA) will be in effect for some customers on MLW (see map) until sampling results confirm that the drinking water is safe.
While water service to customers is being restored, you may experience some turbidity, which is normal. Please run a cold water tap until the water runs clear. An outdoor tap is preferred.

Original Notice - October 30, 2026
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises customers at #1-12, #28-31-3525 and 3497 Enderby Mabel Lake Road (see map of affected area) supplied by Mabel Lake Water Utility (MLW) of a planned water outage on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm while construction work is completed.
It is suggested that you store a short-term water supply for cooking and toilet use before the interruption.
Once water has been returned to service, affected customers will be placed on a precautionary Water Quality Advisory(WQA) until the water has been tested and confirmed to meet acceptable guidelines.
What should affected customers do?
When water service resumes, properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and / or air in the water. Please run cold water until the water has cleared. An outside tap(s) is preferred.
The level of treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, some customers with weakened immune systems and/or those wishing additional protection may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth. The RDNO will notify customers when the WQA is rescinded.
Where can I find updates?
When this notice is rescinded, a notice will be hand-delivered to customers and an update will be posted to www.rdno.ca/news (filter by Water Notices).
If you have any questions, please contact the RDNO Utilities Department at 250-550-3700.
