The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises some customers on Monashee Road supplied by the Silver Star Water Utility (SSW) of planned water outages on September 28, 29 and October 1, 2026, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day while construction work is completed (see map).
Starting on September 28, 2026, affected customers will be on a precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) until the planned work is completed and the water has been tested and confirmed to meet acceptable guidelines.
Why is this notice in place?
Planned construction work is scheduled to occur on September 28, 29 and October 1, 2026, which could cause water loss to customers between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm each day and could be extended if unforeseen circumstances arise. It is suggested that you store a short-term water supply for cooking and toilet use before the potential interruption.
What should affected customers do?
When water service resumes, properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and / or air in the water. Please run cold water until the water has cleared. An outside tap(s) is preferred.
The level of treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, some customers with weakened immune systems and/or those wishing additional protection may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth. The RDNO will notify customers when the WQA is rescinded.
