The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) funds three transit routes in the North Okanagan: Route 60 (Enderby/Vernon), Route 61 (Lumby/Vernon) and Route 90 (UBCO/Vernon). Transit service is funded by the Province of BC, North Okanagan taxpayers and transit fares. Decisions about fares, routes and service levels are made by the Board of Directors and municipal partners based on information and planning provided by BC Transit.
The RDNO also partners with the City of Vernon and District of Coldstream for the provision of custom transit services (handyDART) within Electoral Areas 'B' and 'C' on a cost-shared basis.
Fare reviews are conducted periodically to ensure that fares keep up with the cost to provide transit services. Vernon Regional Transit fares were last reviewed in 2018.
