Grindrod Water – Interruption to Water Service and Water Quality Advisory on 3rd Avenue

Type
Water Notice

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises customers supplied by the Grindrod Water Utility (GRW) that on July 17, 2026, there was a water outage to allow an emergency water service repair. Some customers on 3rd Avenue are on a precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) as a result of the outage (see map of affected area).

Once water has been returned to service, affected customers will be on a precautionary Water Quality Advisory(WQA) until the water has been tested and confirmed to meet acceptable guidelines

What should affected customers do?

When water service resumes, properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and / or air in the water. Please run cold water until the water has cleared. An outside tap(s) is preferred.

The level of treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, some customers with weakened immune systems and / or those wishing additional protection may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth. The RDNO will notify customers when the WQA is rescinded.

Where can I find updates?
