Grindrod Water Utility - BOIL WATER NOTICE

Type
Water Notice

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) – Grindrod Water Utility (GRW), in conjunction with Interior Health, advises customers that the Grindrod water supply is under a precautionary BOIL WATER NOTICE.

Why are customers affected?

As a precaution, all customers who receive water from Grindrod Water Utility are on a Boil Water Notice (BWN) because of high turbidity in the river due to recent storm activity. This event reduced the treatment plant efficiency. The BWN will be in effect until further notice.

Who should be careful?

All customers should exercise caution when using the water for consumption purposes.

What should these customers do?

For all customers, water intended for the following uses should be boiled for one minute:

  • drinking
  • preparing any foods
  • washing fruits and vegetables
  • making beverages or ice
  • brushing teeth
  • preparing infant formula

The RDNO is sampling immediately and customers will be informed when water quality returns to normal via road signs, the Grindrod Water email alert system, and the RDNO website.
