Up to $50,000 in funding is available to support a variety of projects within this funding allocation. Project grant funds may be requested for up to 50% of the total cost of a project.
Eligibility & Project Scope
Grant proposals from individuals, businesses, community groups and non-profit organizations, including school groups will be considered.
Projects will be evaluated based on how they support the goals and strategies of the RDNO Solid Waste Management Plan. Key components of this plan involve supporting initiatives that divert compostable organic waste from landfills and encourage proactive rethinking of waste prevention by reduce and reuse. Potential projects include but are not limited to: reducing food waste, community sharing/reuse initiatives, salvaging materials for reuse, research projects, waste reduction education events, product repair events/courses, policy amendments, and waste reduction equipment development.
